Purpose: 

These flexible, thermoplastic tabs are used to measure the occlusal and interproximal clearance during tooth preparation for restorations like crowns and bridges

Function:

• Place a tab between the prepared tooth and its opposing tooth to ensure there is enough clearance for the dental lab to create a restoration that fits properly

• The 1.0mm pink tab is part of a color-coded system that includes different thicknesses for various clearance requirements
