- Hank uterine dilators are essential tools in a wide range of gynecological and obstetrical procedures
Applications:
- Primarily used in gynecology and obstetrics for:
- Allow better visualization of the cervix and uterine canal during Colposcopies
- Widen the cervix for the insertion of instruments to remove tissue from the uterus during Dilation and Curettage (D&C)
- To gently open the cervix to facilitate the insertion of an IUD
- To allow the passage of a hysteroscope into the uterus for diagnostic or therapeutic purpose
- To enable the collection of tissue samples from the uterine lining during Endometrial Biopsy
- In some Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) fertility procedures
Key Features:
- Double-ended meaning each dilator has two different sizes at opposite ends
- This provides a progressive range of dilation with fewer individual instruments
- Typically around 10-1/2" to 11" (26.5 cm to 27.9 cm) long
- Designed to be sterilized and reused for multiple procedures
- Housed in a canvas roll for organization and protection
