Indications:
- Treatment of serious infections, such as:
- Lower respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, empyema)
- Skin and soft tissue infections
- Gynecological infections
- Intra-abdominal infections
- Septicemia
- Bone and joint infections
Application:
- Clindamycin functions as a lincosamide antibacterial by either killing bacteria or inhibiting their growth
- Used when penicillin is not appropriate, such as in patients with penicillin allergies
- Effective against a variety of bacteria, including:
- Anaerobic bacteria:
- Including species like Bacteroides fragilis and Clostridium perfringens
- Aerobic gram-positive bacteria:
- Including Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pneumoniae.
Composition:
- 900mg of Clindamycin Phosphate, USP
- 5% Dextrose Solution
